Overview and definitions
An Agent is a partner, merchant, or broker organization that originates loan applications on behalf of borrowers. Each agent represents a company, not a person — for example, a brokerage, a dealership, or any third-party referral partner that signs up borrowers for the lender.
Key characteristics:
- An agent is uniquely identified by its legal name and tax number. No two agents can share either of these.
- An agent has its own contact details (phone, email, website), legal address, bank account for receiving partner payouts, and one or more logo files.
- Each agent groups one or more Agent Users — individual people who log in to the Agent Portal on behalf of that organization. An agent user only sees data that belongs to their agent.
- An agent is associated with a list of leads (prospective borrowers it has registered) and loan applications/loans that originated from those leads.
- Backoffice staff with the Partner Manager role have cross-agent visibility and are responsible for creating, editing, and inviting agents.
How agents relate to other concepts:
- Lead — a prospective borrower registered by an agent. A lead belongs to exactly one agent.
- Loan Application / Loan — when a lead is invited to apply, an application is created and may turn into a loan. The originating agent stays attached to the loan throughout its lifecycle.
- Product group — agents can only offer product groups explicitly assigned to them. A product group defines the loan product, amount range, and other parameters.
