Submitting an application
There are four entry points that lead to the same application intake process. The resulting application goes through the same data collection logic.
| Channel | Who initiates | Typical purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Borrower Portal | The customer, logged into their own portal | Self-service application submission |
| Back Office | A back-office operator (Credit Officer) | Taking an application on the customer’s behalf (for example, over the phone or in a branch) |
| Agent Portal | A partner agent logged into the agent portal | Taking an application on the customer’s behalf, with the agent recorded on the deal |
| Agent invitation to a lead | An agent invites an existing lead; the lead then completes the application themselves on the Borrower Portal | Pre-qualifying a potential customer and letting them finish the application online |
Key differences at a glance
| Aspect | Borrower Portal | Back Office | Agent Portal | Agent invitation to a lead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Who logs in | Customer | Credit officer | Agent | Agent sends the invite — Customer completes the application |
| How the customer is identified | The logged-in user is the customer | Operator enters the customer’s phone or email; if a user with that contact does not exist, it is created | Operator enters the customer’s phone or email; if a user with that contact does not exist, it is created | Agent picks or creates a lead with first name, last name, phone, and email; the system creates (or reuses) a borrower user from the lead’s phone or email |
| Agent association | No agent | No agent | Agent is automatically set to the logged-in agent’s partner organisation | Agent is the one assigned to the lead |
| First screen | Choose a product group | Choose a customer, then choose a product group | Choose a customer, then choose a product group | Agent screen: Send a loan application for a lead (product group + suggested loan amount); the lead later picks up the Borrower Portal flow |
| Who fills in the application forms | The customer | The operator | The operator | The customer (lead), on the Borrower Portal, after following the invitation |
All four channels invoke the same application intake process: initial eligibility checks → loan parameters → customer/company data → KYC → bank account verification → (collateral, further info if required) → loan conditions confirmation → handover to origination.
