What determines the process

Two inputs drive the variations in the flow: the borrower type and the product group settings for decision making.

Borrower type

Value Description
Person The applicant is an individual (a natural person).
Legal entity The applicant is a company (a business client).

The platform automatically routes the application to the corresponding origination flow based on this value.

Product group settings (Decision making)

Each product group defines settings that change how the process behaves.

Credit bureau

This setting controls whether the system initiates a credit bureau request or not.

Value Description
Empty The system doesn’t initiate a request to the credit bureau.
Equifax The system initiates a request to the credit bureau (Equifax), if the client has a signed agreement with Equifax.

Verification

This setting controls whether a back-office verifier must review the application before it is scored.

Value Description
Manual A verifier must open the application in the back-office and either approve it, request updates from the borrower, or decline it.
None The verification step is skipped entirely; the application proceeds directly to scoring (and, for legal entities, to the financial data step).

Underwriting

This setting controls whether an underwriter must make the final decision on the application.

Value Description
Auto The system decides automatically. If a suitable product is found, the application is auto-approved on the requested terms. If no product is found, the application is automatically declined.
Semi-auto The system auto-approves only the safest cases (top scoring zone with a product found). Everything else is sent to an underwriter for a manual decision.
Manual The application is always sent to an underwriter for a manual decision, regardless of the score or whether a product was found automatically.

How the settings combine

The decision after scoring is calculated as follows:

Underwriting setting Scoring result Product auto-selected Outcome
Auto Top zone Yes Auto-approved (no underwriter)
Auto Top zone No Auto-declined (“no suitable products were found”)
Auto Middle zone Yes Auto-approved (no underwriter)
Auto Middle zone No Auto-declined (“no suitable products were found”)
Semi-auto Top zone Yes Auto-approved (no underwriter)
Semi-auto Top zone No Sent to underwriter
Semi-auto Middle zone Any Sent to underwriter
Manual Any Any Sent to underwriter

Top zone = the lowest-risk scoring band. Middle zone = the medium-risk scoring band. The exact thresholds are configured separately for each product group.
